Although it is easy to do a simple search for “Suboxone Clinic near me”, there are some serious reasons you should stay away from a Suboxone clinic to aid you beat your addiction to narcotics. Suboxone is taken as a long-term maintenance treatment to help individuals overcome their addictions to narcotics. It is typically used in clinics and generally used under strict medical monitoring. Suboxone therapy is very effective for those who suffer from an addiction to narcotics, but because of its very strict requirements and lack of tolerance levels, Suboxone cannot be easily used by those with a milder dependence on narcotics.

Suboxone clinics do not use methadone to relieve the withdrawal symptoms from using narcotics, so it is essentially an opiate-based treatment to overcome addictive dependence. Methadone can be extremely addictive, and as a result many patients find that they become dependent upon Suboxone in order to maintain their sobriety. Methadone is an opiate-based drug, and like Suboxone it can be addictive and difficult to get off of. Although it has been proven that Suboxone therapy can help many individuals who have an addiction to narcotics, methadone is not the best drug to start with for the first time. If you have had a previous drug or alcohol addiction, Suboxone therapy may not be suitable for you. Many people who try out Suboxone therapy find that they are either unable to stay sober or that their withdrawal symptoms are worse than the addiction that they previously had.

Because Suboxone is not a short term solution to overcoming addictive dependence, most people who try it will eventually have to look for other alternatives to treatment. There are other medications that can be used to combat withdrawal symptoms from narcotic use and they are not usually used in conjunction with Suboxone therapy. Some people may also try detoxification programs such as the detox program at the University of Miami or at an alcohol rehabilitation center, but these programs tend to take a very long time to complete, which is not the case with Suboxone therapy. Detoxification programs are generally administered by an inpatient facility, and the only thing you will experience during detox is discomfort and mild nausea. Suboxone will only be required at the beginning and end of a detoxification program.
